Hobart is
the state capital and most populous city of the Australian
island state of Tasmania, founded in 1803 as a penal colony. Hobart is
Australia's second oldest capital city after Sydney. In 2008,
the city had a greater area population of approximately 210,000.
The city is the financial and administrative centre of Tasmania,
and serves as the home port for both Australian and French Antarctic operations.
When in Hobart, make sure you visit Salamanca
Place where you will find 19th-century waterfront warehouses
dating back to the early 1800's whaling days. Today, trendy
cafes, restaurants, galleries and art studios are located

finest wineries in the world-renowned Coal Valley or head
up the Mt. Wellington for a walk to the springs or even travel
