The
Huon River is the 4th longest river in Tasmania Australia.
THe Huon River
is 170 km in length, and runs through the farming district
of the Huon Valley. It starts at Scotts Peak Dam at Lake Pedder and flows south-east to the Tahune Airwalk, joining the Picton River before heading through the township of Glen Huon where, just to the south flows
down rapids to merge with seawater. From there, it then travels through Huonville, Franklin,
and Cygnet. When the river meets the Tasman Sea at Surveyors Bay, it is over 5 kilometres wide. |
