Wynyard is a small agricultural town on the far north-west coast of Tasmania, Australia, and located app. 17 kilometres west of Burnie. At the 2011 census Wynyard had a population of just over 5,000 permanent residents. The town is a regional hub servicing the surrounding rural areas - the Burnie Airport provides commercial flights to Melbourne and other districts. The main council offices for the Waratah-Wynyard local government area are located in Wynyard.
