Bookings are not required for camping Maria Island. However, please note camping fees do apply.
There are no shops or cars on Maria Island,
however mountain bikes are popular and a great way to explore
the Park. You can take your bike across on
the ferry.
You can camp at free sites at French's Farm and Encampment
Cove, which are between three and four hours’ walk from
Darlington. Basic accommodation can be booked in the Old Penitentiary
at Darlington.

Maria Island, Tasmania is a little less than 20 kilometres
long and 13 kilometres at its widest point, Maria Island is
two small islands that are joined by a narrow sandy
isthmus.
