The Fotescue Bay Camping Ground is located on the Tasman Peninsula near Port Arthur Tasmania in the Tasman National Park in Tasmania’s south east. Please note - National Park entry fees apply. Fortescue Bay is a secluded bay on the Tasman Peninsula near Port Arthur where you can explore spectacular cliff-edged coastal scenery, go bushwalking, fishing, boating or go diving or snorkelling calm, clear but cool waters. Nearby you will find pristine sandy beaches where you can undertake many ore activities including more coastal walks and the convict ruins of Port Arthur.

There are 41 campsites at the Fortescue Bay campground. The camping area is suited mostly for tent camping but with an allowance for a small number of campervans. There are toilets, fresh cold water and a coin operated shower. There are also fireplaces and gas barbeques in the day use area where you could enjoy a picnic lunch with family and friends. There is a dirt road app. 12 kilometres in length to get you to the Fortescue Bay campsite, however it is generally in good condition. There are coin operated hot showers, good pit toilets, water on tap and you are just 4 kms from Port Arthur once you get back off the dirt road. Camping is app. AUD $13-00 per night (Each add. adult $5.00, children $2.50). There is also a boat launching ramp, fireplaces are provided (wood is available for sale). There is a rubbish collection at Fortescue Bay; please mkare sure that rubbish is placed in the rubbish facility in the day use area.

Visitors should note that all provisions need to be bought with you as there are no shops or power in the area. Rates are on a per site per night basis and bookings are essential.

There are restaurants, eateries and shops a short drive away in Port Arthur and Nubeena. Whilst in Fortescue Bay, make sure you also visit the Port Arthur Historic Site, Remarkable Caves, Tasman Arch, Devils Kitchen, Saltwater River Coal Mines and the Tasmanian Devil Park.
